NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is warning the public to look out for an email from BBB that included a link that appears to be Dropbox.
This is not a valid email from BBB or BBB staff members. It is a scam that contains malware.
“We regret this has happened, especially having used our name and has abused the trust you have with our organization,” BBB officials said.
If you receive this email, it is recommended that you immediately delete it. If you opened the link and entered any login information, you will want to reset the that information at www.dropbox.com. You might also reach out to your internal IT team to verify there is no further action needed on your workstation.
The BBB IT team is working to correct the issue.
