CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Warmer weather and longer days create the perfect opportunity to get out on the water. Clarksville – Montgomery County is a prime location for both boating and kayaking. Access to the Cumberland and Red Rivers give boaters of all kinds access to recreational activities including tubing, fishing, and more.

Boat Launch Locations


Liberty Park and Clarksville Marina

Liberty Park has a free boat launch area as well as the opportunity to reserve a slip from the Clarksville Marina

Conservation Club Boat Launch
The Conservation Club is located off Seven Mile Ferry Rd. The Club has boat docks, an onsite caretaker, and concession area. For more information on launching your boat from the Conservation Club call 931-648-4655.

McGregor Park

McGregor Park boat launch is off Riverside Drive. Motor boats and kayaks can launch or dock their boat for a short period at McGregor Park. There is a pedestrian overpass at McGregor Park that allows boaters to dock their boat and walk to restaurants and shopping in downtown Clarksville.

Trice Landing Park

Trice Landing boasts 30 acres of open space, picnic area, and boat ramp.

Canoe and Kayak Access


Billy Dunlop Park
A favorite of families and water recreation enthusiasts, Billy Dunlop Park is just off Needmore Road near the Clarksville Speedway. Access to the river is perfect for those looking to go tubing or launch their kayak. Playground, pavilions, and walking trails are also part of the park experience. City Parks and Recreation hosts an annual camp out at Billy Dunlop.

Robert Clark Park
A newer addition to the City of Clarksville parks system is Robert Clark Park of Tiny Town Road. This park is part of the blueway access, allowing canoe and kayak enthusiasts free access to the river system. Load up your kayak or canoe and head over to Robert Clark Park for direct access to the West Fork Red River and this scenic area to experience nature and spot wildlife.

Events on the Water

Several events throughout the year are held out on the water. Canoe and kayak floats, Rally on the Cumberland, as well as the Cardboard Boat Regatta held each year with the annual Riverfest
