CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The 2015 Best of Clarksville proved once again to be one of the premier fundraising event for nonprofit groups in Clarksville. The event, held October 1 at Governors Square Mall, brought in a total of $128,000 for three local charities.
On Tuesday, October 20 donations were made to the Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society, Bikers Who Care and Operation Homefront. Organizers of the event say this year’s Best of Clarksville raised more money than in its’ 20 year history.
Bill Langford with Bikers Who Care who works with a number of children’s charities talked about the event. “We are glad to be a part of Best of Clarksville and this will make a lot of kids smile this Christmas,” Langford said.
“This year alone, our organization has given out $108,000 in emergency assistance, so as we approach the winter months and go into the holiday season, this check could not have come at a better time,” said Valeria Amadon with Operation Homefront.
Along with the funds raised and the nonprofit groups who benefited from Best of Clarksville, over 180 businesses had the opportunity to display their products and services to the more than 4,000 people who attended the event.
