Bennie Burgess Wall

Bennie Burgess Wall, age 89, died at his home in Southside, TN on Friday, June 14, 2013. He was born on December 9, 1923 in Montgomery County, TN the son of the late Herman and Hattie Groves Wall.

Mr. Wall was a construction worker for many years. Mr. Wall was a member of Rye’s Chapel Church. When Rye’s Chapel decided to build a new church, he played a very important role in the construction of it. After retiring from construction work, Mr. Wall became a livestock dealer. He always enjoyed the cattle business and having the cows on his farm. He was known as Mr. Bennie the cow man.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wall was preceded in death by brothers, Herman Wall, Jr. and Cullum Wall and sisters, Edna Wall Harrell, Dorothy Wall Nelson, and Etta Wall Smithey.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Martha June Groves Wall of Southside, TN; his sons, Burney Wall and his wife, Carol of Southside, TN, Carl Wall and his wife, Sue of Clarksville, TN and his daughter, Carol Wall Denton of Clarksville, TN; his brothers, Van Wall of Southside, TN and Clarence (Boobie) Wall of Clarksville, TN; and sister, Cora Sue Wall Collins of Texas.

Mr. Wall was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Visitation Will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 2-6 p.m. and Monday, June 17, 2013 from 9-11 a.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home in Clarksville, TN.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Robert Hargrove and Rev. Melvin Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Rye’s Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Wall, Billy Wall, Michael Wall, Clint Lehman, Ray Wolfe, Paul Traylor, Jacob Traylor, and Jared Traylor. Honorary pallbearers will be O.C. Groves, Bobby Harrell, and Howard Sinks.
