CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- A Ft. Campbell soldier charged with the rape and murder of his infant daughter is scheduled to go to trial next week in Montgomery County Circuit Criminal Court.
Christopher Paul Conway is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated rape of a child for the November 14, 2017 death of one of his 9-month old twin daughters -Adeline Conway.
Police responded to Cindy Jo Ct. Nov. 14, 2017, around 7:19 a.m. in response to a medical call of CPR in progress. The child was transported to Tennova and was pronounced dead at around 8 a.m.
The special operations unit homicide detectives took over the investigation and determined the nine-month-old female infant had been sexually assaulted and that a cord was wrapped around her neck, causing her death.
On Nov. 15 around 4:18 a.m., Conway was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with homicide and aggravated rape of a child.
His trial is scheduled for November 18 in Judge Jill Ayer’s court. This trial will be conducted as a bench trial with the verdict to be determined by the judge, not a jury.
