CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Northwest High School football is under new leadership with first year head coach Mark Hall. After being hired on this off-season, Hall is looking to turn the Vikings’ luck around in 2024.

Last season was one to forget for the Northwest Vikings, who went winless throughout their first year playing in 6A football. However, Hall and the Vikings hope to put last year behind them and take the steps necessary to build a winning culture.

“I hired a coaching staff that shares the same vision of where I want this program to be,” Hall told Clarksville Now. “These kids have completely bought in, and we are ready to come out here and make some noise.”

As for what people should expect on the field from Northwest High, the first-year head coach said the team plays as one cohesive unit, and you will see a physical bunch on both sides of the ball.

“I tell them all the time, on defense we want 11 helmets at the ball when he’s tackled,” Hall said. “Offensively, we have a lot of good linemen with good size, and we’re going to run the football. It’s going to be exciting to watch.”

While the Vikings are expected to fight an uphill battle this season, Hall told him team they are here for one reason: to be the change.

“We want to be a part of the change,” Hall said. “We’re going to dominate our conditions, our circumstances and our character. If we dominate those things, we’re going to dominate our opponents.”
