Batson Nolan has welcomed two attorneys as new partners in the Clarksville law firm: Lauren Meadows and Jeff Goodson.

“We are happy to welcome Lauren and Jeff into the partnership,” Mark Nolan said. “This move further strengthens Batson Nolan’s depth in the litigation and estate planning and probate practices and further demonstrates Batson Nolan’s position as a leading law firm in Middle Tennessee.”

Jeff Goodson

Jeff T. Goodson obtained his law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and obtained his Bachelor of Arts in communications from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. From 1994 until 2001, Jeff worked at Lovell Communications Inc., a marketing communications firm headquartered in Nashville.

Goodson then worked as an associate at the Law Office of John Cobb Rochford, where he specialized in civil litigation, with a particular emphasis on real estate matters, title insurance recoupment claims and complex business disputes. In 2008, he formed the Law Office of Jeff T. Goodson.

In 2012, Goodson joined the Clarksville City Attorney’s Office, and in 2013, he was promoted to deputy city attorney. Goodson helped make new law before the Tennessee Supreme Court in the case of Moreno v. City of Clarksville, which further defined the boundaries of sovereign immunity. He has served as president of the Tennessee Municipal Attorneys Association.

“Throughout the years, and prior to joining the firm, I have had the pleasure of working with Batson Nolan on a number of projects and, in the process, have come to know and greatly admire the firm’s excellent reputation and its superbly talented members,” Goodson said. “Now, being named a partner at Batson Nolan is not only an exciting opportunity, but is undoubtedly the highlight of my career to date.”

Lauren Meadows

Lauren S. Meadows is a native Tennessean who was raised in Nashville. She attended the University of Tennessee, majoring in political science, and graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was a member of the senior editorial staff of UT Law School’s Business Transaction Journal.

Lauren is a Class of 2021 graduate of Leadership Clarksville.

“I joined Batson Nolan in 2017 because of the firm’s outstanding reputation in Middle Tennessee, and because of the opportunities it provided that are simply not available at many firms in Nashville,” Meadows said. “My estate planning and probate practice has grown significantly in that time positioning the firm as a leader in this area. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my practice as a partner at Batson Nolan.”
