Barry Dean York, age 65 of Clarksville, passed away June 15, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 20 at Salem United Methodist Church, 2269 Seven Mile Ferry Road, Clarksville, Tennessee, with Rev. Brian M. Marcoulier officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. till the hour of service.
Barry entered this life on July 18, 1949 in Lepanto, Arkansas, son of the late James F. (Doc) York and Trudy Brown York. Barry was the lead singer for the Salem Ridge Quartet for many years and was a longtime employee of The Wendy’s Company.
He was preceded in death by brothers James L. York (Monnette, AR), and Gerald L. York (Clarksville, TN). He is survived by his wife Sheron, son Skyler York (Jessica), daughter Megan Wojnarek (Mark), grandson Dayton Barker, brothers Michael T. York (Linda), Perry L. York (Dianne), and sister Gayla York, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the friends and loved ones he took in as members of his ever-expanding family.
Honorary pallbearers will be Skyler York, Mark J. Wojnarek, Trampus Morrison, Mike Hendricks Sr., Mike Barbee, Alfred Byard, Glenn Tankersley, Andrew Marshall Jr., and Nick Schichtel. Flowers or donations may be sent to Salem United Methodist Church prior to the service.
