There are 12 barbecue places you need to check out around Clarksville for all of your finger-licking joy. Here’s what to expect from each, and where to find them.

Mission BBQ: This national chain has made a local difference giving back to those who have served our country, all while having a great barbecue sandwich. They were voted Gold at Clarksville’s Best 2021 ceremony. They are at 2644 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. and are open Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Legends Smokehouse & Grill: This veteran-owned and family-owned business specializes in artisan-smoked barbecued meats; signature sides and chef-inspired desserts, and the best part is the recipes are all original. This trademark won them Silver at Clarksville’s Best 2021 ceremony. They are at 803 S. Riverside Drive, open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit: Located at 2345 Madison St., the Dickey’s chain specializes in authentic, slow-smoked Texas barbecue with classic Southern sides. They are open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Excell Market Bar-B-Q: Known for their fresh barbecue and delectable pies, this hometown favorite is at 3102 Ashland City Road. They are open from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Fox’s BBQ: This veteran-owned barbecue spot has been in business since 2001. Along with barbecue, they have catfish specials on Friday and Saturday. This business is at 521 Heritage Point Drive, and they are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday.

Gray Smoke Barbecue: This barbecue truck has been serving the area since 2018. They offer a wide selection of baby back ribs, pulled pork and chicken, smoked wings, brisket and lots of sides. Check out their Facebook page to see where they are serving near you.
Reggie’s BBQ: Located at 3863 B Trenton Road, this dining establishment is veteran-owned, with one of their values being to never stop improving your craft. They are open from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday.
Smoove’s Grill: This place is best known for its barbecue, but they also have themed days such as “Wing-It Wednesday” and ‘”Fish Friday.” Located at 2150 Fort Campbell Blvd., you can come get your fill from Wednesday to Sunday. Hours vary.
Shiloh Bar-B-Que: Located at 3349 Highway 13, this barbecue place is open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. They have a fresh selection of barbecue, brisket, ribs and pork.
Soul Fuel BBQ “The BBQ Firetruck”: Soul Fuel BBQ is in the Town Center parking lot, Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.. They offer beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches, as well as smoked sausage, barbecue ribs and plenty of side choices.

South of the River BBQ: This restaurant offers smoked-pit barbecue, chicken and ribs, along with daily plate lunch specials, made-to-order burgers and desserts. They are at 2300 State Highway 48/13. Their hours vary.

Whitts Barbecue: The local spot for this regional barbecue chain is on 2030 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. Their menu ranges from pulled pork baked potatoes to hickory-smoked ribs. They are open 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday through Saturday.
