On Thursday, April 13, Barbara (BB) Elaine Self, 76, passed from this life into real life with Jesus at her home in Clarksville, TN.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at The Vineyard Church, Clarksville. Pastor Landon Meadow will be officiating.
BB was born in Austin, Texas, on October 11, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Mary Kunze, of Austin, Texas. Barbara spent her youth in Austin and continued her education at University of Texas Austin, majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Computers. Later she made Clarksville her home. To say BB was well loved is an understatement. She was adored by young and old. In her job with Clarksville’s Meals on Wheels, she served the elderly in the community with grace and kindness. In her role as a teacher in the Vineyard’s children’s programs, she touched the lives of those most precious every week. As a sister, mother and grandmother, BB was treasured. Her greatest joy was her family! And finally, BB was fun! She loved life, lived it vicariously and to the fullest. She laughed often, cried when necessary and always strived to know and love her Jesus more. She will be missed!
BB is survived by four children: Teri Lovelace (Paul), Abilene, TX; Maryanne Butler (Brian), Castle Pines, CO; Deborah Hellums (Josh), Clarksville, TN, Leslie Wilson (Guy), Abilene, TX; 12 grandchildren: Matt Lovelace, Julia Lovelace, Mary Blair, Carley Butler, Caitlyn Butler, Hayden Butler, Anna Hellums, Nathan Hellums, Joy Hellums, Ethan Wilson, Noah Wilson and Samuel Winship; and two siblings, Ken Kunze (Denise), Houston, TX; Allan Kunze (Debra), Austin, TX.
