CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The bank inside the Walmart on Madison Street was robbed Tuesday afternoon, and police were searching the area for the suspect.
At about 3:06 p.m., Clarksville Police responded to Walmart, 2315 Madison St., in reference to a strong-armed robbery at the FSNB Bank branch inside the store, according to a press release from CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien.
The suspect, described as a Black male wearing a yellow long-sleeved shirt with reflective strips, black pants, and black-and-white tennis shoes, ran toward apartments directly behind Walmart, Beaubien said. No weapon was seen during the incident. Officers are searching for the suspect and believe he may have left the area in a vehicle shortly after the robbery.
Residents and businesses in the area are asked to check their security cameras for any footage of the suspect fleeing or entering a vehicle. Anyone who sees the suspect is urged to call 911 immediately.
