CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) –

for 16-year-old Tai Harrell, a Clarksville teen who recently escaped from a Rutherford County detention facility.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has joined the search last week.

Clarksville police said there have been rumored sightings of Harrell but no confirmations as of April 24.

Police said when Harrell escaped from the facility, he stole a four-door, silver Toyota Tundra with a TN Temp tag (3 days old) on the truck, which also has tinted windows. There was a gun inside the truck at the time, meaning Harrell may be armed. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

“We also want to remind those that are willing to help or harbor Tai Harrell that they can and will be criminally prosecuted,” Jim Knoll, spokesman for the Clarksville Police Department said in a statement.

Harrell, who was previously listed as an endangered runaway teen, was initially taken into custody after a lengthy standoff with Clarksville police on April 2.
