CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Austin Peay State University mens basketball’s Jordyn Adams was named to the CollegeInsider.com Freshman All-America team on Wednesday.
The list was comprised of the nation’s top 31 freshmen.
The Silsbee, Texas native also captured OVC Freshman of the Week honors a school record 10 times this past season and was tabbed as the conference’s Freshman of the Year at its conclusion.
The versatile guard finished his first Governor campaign ranked fourth nationally in scoring for a Division I freshman after averaging 17.4 points per game.
Against Tennessee State, Adams poured in a career-high 37 points against the Tigers. He later followed that performance with 24 points and six assists to help Austin Peay defeat Belmont for the first time since 2016.
Many presume the Govs could be picked as the odds-on favorites when the 2020-21 OVC Preseason Top 25 poll is released with the return of Austin Peay’s Adams and OVC Player of the Year Terry Taylor.
