CLARKSVILLE, TN – Austin Peay State University’s Department of Theatre & Dance, with support from the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, will present Moving Voices: A Dance Concert from Feb. 5-8 in the Mike and Sara Gotcher Theatre, located in the university’s Trahern Building.

Professor Margaret Rennerfeldt is the artistic director for the concert, which features works by Nashville-based dance collective New Dialect, Fuse, and the Austin Peay dance faculty. The production will showcase APSU’s dance program, a standout in Tennessee that is regularly recognized by ACDA (American College Dance Association) at its annual convention.

“Moving Voices is a dance concert featuring works from guest artist Banning Bouldin from New Dialect and Department of Theatre & Dance faculty Eboné Amos, Karlos Clegg, Elaine Husted, and myself,” Rennerfeldt said. “Preparations began in October, and we’re excited to bring our collective creative processes to the stage.”

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with 2 p.m. performances on Saturday and Sunday. The Sunday concert will be followed by the senior capstone performances from Bachelor of Fine Arts dance students.

“Our students let loose their creativity in their capstones,” said Talon Beeson, interim chair for the Department of Theatre & Dance. “It’s always exciting to see these emerging artists find their voices.”
