CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Austin Peay (5-2) returns to action this weekend to take on conference foe Jacksonville State (6-2). The game is scheduled for Saturday with kickoff at 3 p.m.
According to the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications Casey Crigger, Saturday also marks Senior Night for the veteran student-athletes that make up the football program.

Crigger noted in the Austin Peay football preview that this is the 32nd meeting between the Governors and the Gamecocks. Jacksonville State leads the series 20-8-3.
However, Austin Peay has won two consecutive games against the Gamecocks dating back to the 2019-20 season. Both of the Governors’ wins came when the Gamecocks were ranked nationally in the top 15.
The Governors, who are ranked 21st in the nation, should be tested and pushed to their limit Saturday. If Austin Peay were to come out on top, they could leap into first place of the conference standings.
As for Jacksonville State, with a win, they would remain first place in conference and would make a push to be ranked in the top 25 next week. The tables below details the teams’ production on the offensive and defensive side of the ball up to this point in the season.
