CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – After an upset victory over Butler University this past Friday, the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team picked up yet another impressive win over the Chattanooga Mocs on Monday, Nov. 11. The Governors won by a score of 67-61, which pushed them to their first 3-0 start since 2000, according to APSU Athletics.
APSU had three players score in double-digits against the Mocs, including LJ Thomas who scored 18 points, Sai Witt who scored 17 points and Isaac Haney who scored 14. This is the second consecutive game Thomas led the Govs in scoring following his performance against the Butler Bulldogs when he scored 29 points.
Up next, Austin Peay men’s basketball will travel to Knoxville, Tennessee to take on the twelfth ranked Tennessee Volunteers. Tennessee is also undefeated on the season after dominating wins against Gardner-Webb and the Louisville Cardinals.
Coming into the week, Austin Peay received two Top 25 votes, according to The Associated Press. We’ll see if this trend continues following the Govs upcoming matchup with the Vols.
