CLARKSVILLE, TN – Austin Peay State University’s offices of Professional and Workforce Development, Research and Sponsored Programs and TRiO Student Support Services are teaming up this holiday season to host “Jingle Bowls,” a community cereal drive benefiting the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Food Pantry and the S.O.S. Food Pantry at APSU.
This isn’t your typical food drive. Instead of canned goods, the APSU community is invited to spread holiday cheer by donating boxes of hot or cold cereal now through Dec. 15.
Donation drop-off locations include:
- McReynolds Building Lobby
- TRiO Student Support Services Office, 3rd Floor, Ellington Building
- Browning 136
Donations are accepted Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Food Pantry, located at 5875 Highway 48, provides food boxes every Tuesday to individuals and families in need in southern Montgomery County. Each box includes both non-perishable and fresh food items, ensuring community members have access to nutritious meals.
The S.O.S. Food Pantry supports APSU students experiencing food insecurity by providing weekly access to non-perishable items and maintaining a seed library to encourage self-sustaining food growth. Students in need may visit the pantry at 322 Home Ave. (Community Engagement and Sustainability) during hours of operation and must present an APSU ID.
The Professional and Workforce Development Center at APSU offers non-credit courses and professional certifications for community members and individuals seeking career changes. Programs include Phlebotomy Technician, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), American Sign Language and a variety of career and workforce certifications.
