CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Austin Peay State University was perhaps a bit spooky, but still a fun place to be on Sunday, October 31 as the longstanding tradition of G.H.O.S.T., Greater Halloween Options for Safe Trick-or-Treating, took over the campus.

The Student Government Association at APSU sponsors the free event each year along with support from many other university clubs, organizations, and local community groups. Student Government Association Vice President, Kierstan Roop, said G.H.O.S.T. was a little different this year with a drive-thru style.

Roop said vehicles started lining up an hour before the activities started at 2 p.m. The event featured 48 candy stations with students and volunteers at each one dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes passing out candy to kids in cars and trucks as they stopped at each site.

There was a long line of traffic on campus winding its way from College Street and Marion Street, down Drane Street, West Avenue, and Browning Drive past the Morgan University Center. Austin Peay President Dr. Michael Licari even got into the act handing out candy dressed as a Ghostbuster.
