CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Austin Peay men’s basketball senior guard/forward Terry Taylor was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season on Tuesday.

Taylor becomes just the 15th player in conference history to accomplish the feat twice and first since Belmont’s Evan Bradds to do so since 2016 and 2017.

The Bowling Green, Kentucky native joins Otis Howard as the only other Governor to receive the honor in back-to-back years.

Taylor was also selected to the All-OVC team for the fourth straight season. Only Eastern Kentucky’s Nick Mayo and Western Kentucky’s Ralph were given the same recognition by the league.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Gov standout currently leads the conference in scoring (21.7 ppg), rebounding (11.0 rpg), minutes (37.1 mpg) and offensive rebounding (5.1 orpg). In his Austin Peay career, Taylor has set new school records for field goals made (959), field goals attempted (1,787) and most points (2,488).

Only two players in NCAA Division I basketball have averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds per contest this season; Loyola Maryland’s Santi Aldama and Taylor for the second campaign in a row.

Taylor and the rest of the Governors (14-12, 10-10 OVC) await Eastern Kentucky (21-6, 15-5 OVC) in the first round of the OVC Tournament Thursday, March 4 at 9:30 p.m. in Evansville, Indiana at the Ford Center.
