CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Austin Peay men’s and women’s basketball teams celebrated their upcoming 2022-23 season of play with their second annual Govs Madness event.
Govs Madness was made up of APSU basketball teams’ participating in the following events: 3-point competition, dunking contest and live scrimmages. There was plenty of action throughout the night.
Austin Peay athletics also found ways to get fans involved. According to Athletics Communications Assistant Alex Allard, this included an alumni and fan scrimmage that took place earlier in the night.
Women’s head basketball coach Brittany Young and men’s head basketball coach Nate James addressed the crowd as well.
Austin Peay basketball is right around the corner. APSU women’s basketball kicks off their season with an exhibition game against Tusculum at home on Thursday, Nov. 3. As for the Govs men’s basketball team, their season begins with a home game against Fisk University Wednesday, Nov. 2.
