CLARKSVILLE, TN – Aunt and niece duo Mariana Bowen, 13, and Katalina Bowen, 9, competed and won at the 2022 TNAAU State Wrestling Championship in Lebanon on March 5.

On March 19, they competed at the AAU All-American Spring Youth National Wrestling Championship in Kingsport, where they became national champions and earned the title of All-American.

Mariana and Katalina wrestle with the Iron Knights Wrestling Club in Clarksville and train Judo and Jiu-Jitsu at Bowen Combative Arts Academy.

This is Katalina’s first year at wrestling, but she has been training in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu for a couple years. She is a orange belt in Judo and a grey with black stripe belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Mariana wrestled when she was 4 and 5 years old, then fully committed to Judo and Jiu-Jitsu for the following years, and still trains and competes in these combative arts. Mariana is a purple belt in Judo and an orange with black stripe Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
