CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Attorney John B. Holt has announced his candidacy for Judge of the 1st Circuit Court of the 19th Judicial District, which encompasses Montgomery and Robertson Counties.

Holt was born and raised in Clarksville. He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1989 and served as Student Body President. He received a BA in Political Science from Carson-Newman College and earned his law degree from the University of Memphis Cecel C. Humphreys School of Law in 1996. Since being admitted to practice law in Tennessee, John has maintained a general civil litigation practice in Robertson and Montgomery Counties for the past 25 years.

“Having been a resident of both Montgomery and Robertson Counties, I am uniquely qualified to understand the dynamics of the district,” Holt said. “It would be a distinct honor to serve the communities that have been such a significant part of my life and that of my family.”

Holt has served on numerous community boards and committees in addition to being a past President of the Robertson County Bar Association. He is married to Elizabeth Hogan Holt, and they have three children: Sarah, Harrison and Jack.

“I am announcing my candidacy now as I want to get to work proving my unswerving commitment to and qualifications for serving as a Circuit Court Judge,” Holt said.
