CLARKSVILLE, TN − If you’ve noticed the surge of new jobs, construction activity downtown, or Clarksville getting more attention as a destination, it’s not by chance. It’s the result of Aspire, a community-driven initiative focused on making Clarksville-Montgomery County an even better place to visit, live, work and invest. Now in its seventh campaign, Aspire’s Ascend & Advance vision is taking shape, and the momentum we’re seeing is underway.
Real momentum in business development
In just the past few months, major employers like Florim USA and Frito-Lay have made significant investment announcements. Florim is expanding its workforce to 400 by 2026, and Frito-Lay is adding 40,000 square feet to its facility—securing 50 local jobs. These moves signal strong confidence in Clarksville’s business climate and infrastructure.
Additionally, the North Park Transload Project is officially underway, enhancing the region’s logistics network thanks to a Site Development Grant facilitated by the Economic Development Council.
Strategic place-based investment
Aspire is also helping drive projects that transform how people interact downtown and beyond. The Montgomery County/IDB garage is set to open in June 2025, bringing 511 new parking spaces and major streetscape improvements. In July, construction begins on Riverview Square, the final piece in a three-part downtown strategy that started with the F&M Bank Arena.
Near Tennova-Healthcare Clarksville, roadwork is beginning on the future Office Park and convention center site, with Clarksville remaining in strong consideration for a new VA facility—with a decision expected later this year.
Workforce and talent development
A $50,000 grant from the American Jobs Center is powering a new summer internship program with Austin Peay State University, strengthening local talent pipelines and supporting the next generation of professionals.
Advocacy that delivers
Working with an advocate at the Tennessee Capitol, Aspire has ensured Clarksville’s voice is present and persuasive at the state level. Key legislation that could direct millions into local infrastructure has been advanced thanks to this focused engagement—proof that policy advocacy continues to be a vital lever for community progress.
Tourism making a measurable impact
From robotics and cheer tournaments to college hockey and fishing events, tourism is booming. The region has seen $5.8 million in visitor spending and nearly 10,000 room nights booked in the last 60 days alone—benefiting hotels, restaurants, and small businesses across the board.
Looking ahead
Aspire VII is all about turning big ideas into real progress. With the community and local leaders working together, Clarksville-Montgomery County is doing more than just growing, we’re building for the future Clarksvillians.
