CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Thanks to the generosity of the Clarksville community, over $10,000 was raised for the victims of the Ashford Place Apartments Fire.

The fire, which occurred Jan. 29, displaced 20 families, leaving them without a home or personal belongings.

Members of the community stepped up to help their neighbors by donating during a donation drive recently held by 5 Star Media Group/ClarksvilleNow.com at Sango Walmart.

LifePoint Church of Clarksville graciously stepped in to collect donations through their online local relief fund. Pardue Memorial Free Will Baptist Church and other local congregations also collected donations for the families.

The money and gift cards will be distributed to the affected families to help them get back on their feet after the disaster. The Red Cross has been working with the families to asses their needs and provide support.
