Updated with details on Tennessee Oncology’s plans.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Two major Middle Tennessee physician groups – Tennessee Oncology and Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance (TOA) – plan to join the future Ascension Saint Thomas Clarksville Hospital on its 96-acre healthcare campus, pending state approval.

In addition to the new full-service hospital, the campus will include separate facilities for specialty care and outpatient services, with Tennessee Oncology and TOA among them, according to an Ascension Saint Thomas announcement.

Located at Highway 76 and Interstate 24, the site is being master-planned to include a hospital that will anchor a community-focused campus with services including emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiology, oncology, women’s health and NICU care, orthopedics, advanced imaging and coordinated outpatient services.

Ascension Saint Thomas operates 18 hospitals and more than 320 care sites across Middle Tennessee, including 14 locations in Montgomery County.

“We are excited to bring together the vision and expertise of Tennessee Oncology and Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance to meet the needs of Clarksville-Montgomery County,” said Fahad Tahir, president and CEO of Ascension Saint Thomas. “Together with our physician partners and community leaders, we are designing a health campus that prioritizes access to nationally recognized care, advanced technology and essential services within the community.”

Tennessee Oncology

Tennessee Oncology, one of the nation’s largest physician-owned oncology practices, provides care for nearly half of all cancer patients in the state, with 38 cancer care locations across Tennessee and North Georgia. This would be their third Clarksville location.

They are planning a free-standing facility, projected to open with five physicians and about 40 other team members. The facility will offer comprehensive oncology and hematology care, advanced imaging, cutting-edge clinical trials, counseling, survivorship and more.

“We are proud to be part of this collaborative effort to expand access to world-class cancer care in Montgomery County alongside Ascension Saint Thomas,” said Dr. Natalie Dickson, president
and CEO of Tennessee Oncology. “We have long served Clarksville residents and are excited to grow our presence and provide more families with expert cancer care close to home.”

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance, the state’s largest orthopedic surgery group, has 23 locations across Middle Tennessee. Their Clarksville location is across Highway 76 from the planned Ascension Saint Thomas site.

“TOA is honored to join Ascension Saint Thomas in developing this integrated health campus,” said Rob Simmons, CEO of Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance. “We look forward to expanding our commitment to the Clarksville community by bringing our expertise in orthopedic and musculoskeletal care to the new campus.”
