The second fire occurred around 1:42 a.m. at Storybook Drive. The victim’s 2000 Chevrolet Malibu caught fire in the rear of the vehicle and was towed from the scene.
The third fire happened shortly after midnight at Short Street. When officers arrived the vehicle had large flames coming from the gas tank. Police said it appeared an object had been shoved in the gas tank of the 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche and then set on fire. The truck’s owner said he did not know of any possible suspects. The only damage to the vehicle was paint near the gas tank.
There were no injuries or homes damaged as a result of the fires. There was a four door white vehicle spotted in the area of one of the fires, but it has not yet been determined whether there was any actual involvement in the arson by the occupants.
The fires are being investigated as arson. It is unclear if the cases are connected and no suspects have been named at this time. Anyone with information can call Detective Parrish at 931-648-0656 ext. 5356, the TIPSLINE at 931-645-8477, or submit a tip anonymously at P3tips.com/591.
