FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Approximately 200 soldiers assigned to 2nd Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, are scheduled to return Saturday after nine months serving in Afghanistan, according to Fort Campbell Public Affairs.

These soldiers provided counter-rocket, artillery, and mortar coverage to critical assets in Afghanistan in order to provide sense-and-warn capabilities to friendly troops and deter enemy rocket, artillery and mortar attacks.

2-44th soldiers covered seven sites in Afghanistan and took the lead on counter-unmanned aerial system efforts, synchronizing C-UAS efforts and training C-UAS personnel across U.S. Forces Afghanistan.

The ceremony is slated to begin at 5 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17. Times are subject to change without notice.
