BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The U.S. Army’s number three Most Wanted Fugitive was apprehended Wednesday, July 23 at a home in Brentwood, TN.
Master Sergeant James Johnson, 31, was wanted by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office in Hopkinsville, Ky. for failure to appear on 120 counts of first degree sexual abuse of a child.
Johnson is also charged by the U.S. Army with military desertion after being reported as a deserter Nov. 6, 2013. He was assigned to the 506th Infantry Regiment at Fort Campbell.
Johnson was originally arrested on June 20, 2012 for sexual abuse of a minor by Kentucky authorities in Christian County and was released on bond the same day. On September 16, 2013, a warrant was issued in Christian County for failure to appear.
U.S. Marshals, assisted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Johnson at the home in Brentwood without incident. He has since been extradited to Kentucky.
