CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A suspect in an armed robbery fled the scene after being involved in a crash near Highway 12 and the 41 A Bypass Tuesday evening.

The suspect, who has been identified as 43-year-old Larry James Bradley, was on the run from the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office earlier today and surrendered to a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) K9 after a lengthy pursuit, according to Interim Public Information Officer for MCSO, Jamie Dexter.

Around 5:45 p.m., MCSO officials were notified that Cheatham County was in pursuit of an armed man who had just robbed a drug store in Ashland City and he was entering Montgomery County. Pursuits reached speeds of 80 to 100 miles per hour before Bradley, in a silver Lexus, crashed into another vehicle near Ashland City Road.

No major injuries were reported.

Officer Natalie Hall with the Clarksville Police Department (CPD) said the suspect fled from the scene of the crash on foot and attempted to enter a home on Chesterfield Dr. Dexter said the homeowner prevented Bradley from entering, and he then carjacked a woman and immediately crashed the vehicle.

Eventually, Tennessee Highway Patrol’s helicopter tracked the suspect, but lost him near a wood line near Highway 12.

Deputy Kelly Potter and K9 Mallie went to the area where the helicopter lost Bradley and tracked him down. Police said the suspect was in custody as of 7:30 p.m.

CPD officials are investigating the crashes involved in the incident and charges will potentially be filed by CPD in the attempted carjacking and the attempted entering of a Clarksville residence.

Bradley was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with aggravated burglary and carjacking. His bond was set at $110,000.
