Mr. Arbie Lee Gafford, age 72 of Indian Mound, TN, passed away, Thursday, October 15, 2020, at the Nashville VA Medical Center.

He was born, May 17, 1948, in Stewart County, TN, to Buford and Dorothy Gafford.

Mr. Gafford graduated from Stewart County High School class of 1966. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. During his service time, he was combat wounded; he was awarded the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star Medal. He later retired from TVA where he had worked as an instrument mechanic. He was a member of the Rose Valley Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Julian Gafford (Ann), Faye Honeycutt, and Velma Shaver.

Mr. Gafford is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Sue Gafford, children, Don Elkins (Kathy) and Sheryl Miller (Chris); sister, Eve Hester (Ken); brother-in-law, Don Shaver; grandchildren, Mandy Little (Brian), Josh Elkins (Devon), Margaret Szopinski (John), and Angie Burris; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Gafford will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the time of service all at Anglin Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, with Rev. John Meeks officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Rose Valley Cemetery, Indian Mound, TN. His nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions in Memory of Arbie Gafford may be made to the Rose Valley Methodist Church or the Rose Valley Cemetery.
