CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Austin Peay State University announced in late September that they would offer a selection one-credit hour courses beginning in late October.
While previously advertised as being $75 to take one of these classes, they will now be offered free of charge thanks in part to the Austin Peay State University Foundation’s general scholarship fund. The foundation will be funding up to 60 participants.
“Through the efforts of the Foundation, we’re able to offer these classes to our community at no cost to them,” Dr Chad Brooks, APSU associate provost of research and dead of the College of Graduate Studies, said.
The classes, which begin October 23 during APSU’s Fall II term, include:
- Social Media for Business
- Marketing in the Digital Age
- Fake News? The Media and Elections
- Introductions to Korean History and Culture
- Introduction to Pharmacology
Participants who complete the course will receive one hour of college credit, which can be applied to one of several degree programs at Austin Peay.
“These community courses are a great way to leverage APSU’s gift of education back to our community so that people of all walks of life can enjoy a college-level class and gain some new skill sets too,” Brooks said earlier this month.
Registration is now open for these free community classes. For information, visit APSU online or contact Benjamin Drummond at 931-221-1457 or drummondb@apsu.edu.
