CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center at Austin Peay has two important ongoing events during the fall season.

The center is making a contest out of its Food/Clothing/Hygiene Drive, which will last now through Friday, Nov. 8. Donated items will go to support the APSU S.O.S Food Pantry. All clothing for adults and children should be new or slightly used. Items most needed include boxed potatoes, macaroni, mixed fruit, cereal, dry rice, dry beans and canned meat. Donations of Ramen are not preferred.

APSU and the WNDAACC are also currently partnering with the organization known as Southern Word to “execute on-campus workshops and open mics” for poets, emcees, spoken word artists, rappers and writers, according to the official Southern Word website. The programming at Austin Peay is taking place Fridays from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the WNDAACC.
