CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Kiwanis Club of Clarksville hosted the new President of Austin Peay State University (APSU), Alisa White, as their special guest at their meeting Tuesday, August 26. White was announced as the new president June 2 and classes began Monday with White spending a lot of time on campus this week meeting and welcoming students.

White offered a power-point presentation to the Kiwanis club members with photographs of some of the many important facilities at APSU while highlighting the local, state and national recognition the university has received.

White talked about some of the many things that she felt makes APSU special and invited her audience to visit the university and said, ”if you haven’t seen it lately, you don’t know Austin Peay”. Through her photo presentation she explained what the facilities on campus offer students as well as the community.

White spoke with excitement about all aspects of APSU but one thing she seemed most proud of was the new Governors Stadium. “I can’t wait for the new stadium to open. It’s going to be a great place for our students to play, a great place for us to host visitors. I think it’s going to be a destination where people will want to come and root for the Governors, Let’s go Peay,” said White.
