CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a welcome reception for Austin Peay State University’s new President Dr. Michael Licari Friday, April 16.

A number of community and business leaders attended the reception for Licari and his wife Kirsten, sponsored by Waterdogs Scuba & Safety.

Licari spoke to attendees about the relationship between the community and the university and said, we have a lot going for each other.

“It’s one of those things where we maintain those good relationships and build upon them. You know when the community wins, Austin Peay wins, and when Austin Peay wins, the community wins.” Licari said.

Licari became the 11th President of in December 2020, following President Alisa White’s departure. He officially took over at the university March 1 of this year.
