CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Eta Tau Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity (PIKE) at Austin Peay State University will be hosting their 2nd annual Fireman’s Challenge.
The event will take place November 14 from 12-4 p.m. on Drane Street on APSU’s campus. Participants from the community are welcome with a $20 participant’s fee.
The event simulates the obstacle course that recruits for the Clarksville Fire Department must pass in order to become firefighters. All of the proceeds go directly to the Clarksville Fire Rescue and will be used to purchase lifesaving equipment.
“The Fireman’s Challenge is a unique opportunity for Pi Kappa Alpha to support the Clarksville Fire Department”, says Brice Lewis, Chapter President. “Knowing that our efforts directly benefit the community we live in and strive to serve makes everything worth it.”
The initial chartering of the organization was in 1972, and it just re-chartered on October 17. Last year was the first year for the Fireman’s Challenge and the members raised over $4,500 for Clarksville Fire Rescue.
Sponsors are also welcomed and encouraged to contact Brice Lewis at blewis23@my.apsu.edu. For more information about the event visit the organizations event Facebook page.
