DES MOINES, Iowa – With the odds stacked against them, Austin Peay State University (APSU) lost to #1 seed Kansas Jayhawks in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday.
The game was not a shutout, however, with a final score of 105 to 79.
The Govs were #16 seed coming into the game. They trailed Kansas by about 20 points for most of the first half, but couldn’t close the gap in the second.
This is the first time the Govs have been in the tournament since 1987.
