CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- (CLARKSVILLENOW)  The Austin Peay clay target team is off to a solid start its inaugural season. In April the team completed regionally, where they won several first-place awards.

The team is coached by Marty Moore, a local Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) head coach for the past over 10 years. Moore is nationally recognized as a NSCA Master Class Sporting clays and professional skeet shooter.

Now regionally recognized, the team competed at the 2019 USA Youth Education in Shooting Sports Southern Regional College Clay Target Championships. It was there that they won top honors and took home first-place awards.

In June, the team won four collegiate team state titles at the Tennessee Scholastic Clay Target Program championships in Nashville. The team won first in skeet, sporting clays, double trap, and double skeet.

Team members Hunter Purviance, John Michael Baggett, and Makayla Boisseau all took home top honors in individual categories too.
