CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The River Club Golf and Learning Center was filled Monday, April 4 as Austin Peay men’s basketball fans turned out for the “Championship Gathering and Ring Fundraiser” for the 2016 Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) tournament champions. APSU athletics and the Governors Club hosted the event.

Gov’s supporters met with players and were given the opportunity to contribute to the purchase of championship rings for the team. The Govs men’s basketball team was the first No. 8 seed to win the OVC title after claiming four straight wins in four straight days to make it to the NCAA.

APSU Men’s Head Basketball Coach Dave Loos thanked the fans for their support and talked about the team. “We want these people to leave Austin Peay with a degree in one hand and a championship ring on the other. I hope you guys understand just how special this is, and what you have accomplished,” said Loos.
