CLARKSVILLE, TN – The 2024 CMCSS Teacher Residency Program application deadline is Friday, January 5, 2024. Those interested in pursuing a degree or certification in education must submit their information through cmcss.net/trp to be considered for the upcoming cohorts.
Two pathways are currently open for the Teacher Residency Program. The Elementary Teacher Residency (ETR) pathway allows those who do not currently hold a bachelor’s degree to pursue a degree and license to teach elementary grades K-5 and special education intervention through a three-year program. Residents will take courses at Nashville State Community College and Austin Peay State University. Selected candidates will also be compensated while working as CMCSS educational assistants throughout the program.
The Lipscomb Teacher Residency (LTR) and Lipscomb Middle Teacher Residency (LMTR) programs are available through a partnership with Lipscomb University. Through the Lipscomb Teacher Residency, residents will earn their Master’s Degree and licensure in elementary grades K-5 and special education intervention. Through the Lipscomb Middle Teacher Residency, residents will have the option to earn either a Master’s degree or licensure only in Middle grades, math, or English. Lipscomb Middle Teacher Residents will also earn an endorsement to teach English Language Learners. Applicants interested in the Lipscomb University pathways must possess a valid bachelor’s degree.
