CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Nine families in Clarksville were displaced after a minor electrical fire Sunday night. Clarksville Fire Rescue responded to a call from The Villages at Peachers Mill, 830 Peachers Mill Rd.

The fire only damaged the fuse box but led to the power being cut off to the entire building affecting 16 apartments. The Tennessee River Chapter of the American Red Cross in Clarksville responded to the immediate needs of those who were affected.

Red Cross Disaster Program Manager, Phillip Barletto, said some of the families are staying with family or friends. A few chose to remain in their apartments. Alicia Ritchie, Property Manager for the apartments said they are working to help find accommodations for those who need them.

Ritchie added they are working on the electrical issue but it could take up to two weeks before power can be fully restored.
