CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – 5 Star Radio is hosting its annual Toy Drive Dec. 5 and 6 to benefit non-profit organizations in the Clarksville area, sponsored by the YMCA.
Representatives from Q108, Beaver 100.3 FM, z97.5, Rewind 94.3, ESPN Clarksville, and Sunny 99.1 are at Toys R Us through 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 and 9 to 9 Saturday, Dec. 6 to collect toys for area nonprofits.
Free Starbucks hot chocolate will be offered both days and Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion will visit the location Saturday around noon.
Geoffrey the Giraffe will also make an appearance Saturday between noon and 4 p.m.
Monetary donations and collected toys will be given to Sanctuary Inc., United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Toys for Tots, Centerstone, and various foster care organizations. These are all local non-profits that serve Clarksville and the surrounding area.
Last year the community donated more than 2,200 toys and nearly $2,000.
