CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) On December 17, various non-profit organizations donated toys to Byrns Darden Elementary School in Clarksville for the Annie Moore Toy Drive. The toy drive has grown from over 200 toys in 2011 to 1,027 toys this year.

The numbers of toys keeps growing each year and there were also donations of both toys and cold weather clothing. Dr. Nabraunda Jackson, Principal, and her assistants were excited to receive the
large donation.

Generous donations were received from New Jerusalem 5 Fold Ministries (NJ5FM), Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC) of Ft. Campbell, KY, and Ladies of WIN. A new supporter of this event this year was Distinguished Steppers Unlimited LLC.

Martha Smith, Chairperson of the toy drive said there several other persons who faithfully contribute to the cause every year to help make the event a success. Tennessee masonic contributors to this project were Hella Court of Nashville, Warfield Lodge #44, St. Mary’s Order of the Eastern Star, Heroines of Jericho, Ladies of the Circle of Perfection, Royal and Select Masters, Guild, Priorate, and Sunbeams.

Ms. Heather Fleming, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim McMillan and Pastor Katherine Walker of NJ5FM were special guests for this great event. Also pictured were special Grand Heads guests from the Knights Templar and Guild HOTC of Memphis, TN.

The school displays the donations in a department store style for the ease of parents to shop for their children. Dr. Jackson and her staff look forward to this event every year to service those families who may not otherwise have toys for their children. This project serves both the Clarksville military and civilian community.
