Anne Kleeman Sites, age 90, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving children, on Saturday, December 10, 2016.
In her final years she was incapacitated by Alzheimer’s. Her husband, John, preceded her in death in October of 2013. Anne was born in Clarksville on May 25, 1926 to the late Maude Watson Kleeman and William Kleeman.
She is survived by her younger brother William Kleeman, Jr.
Anne graduated from Sweet Briar College (Virginia) with a major in Mathematics and returned to Clarksville to wed John C. Sites in 1947. Anne and John had three children: William Clifton (Cyndi), John Clifton (Cindy) and Elizabeth Anne Conovitz (Steve). Anne is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Anne was a devoted mother and wife, fiercely inquisitive and engaging with a passion for knowledge generally and the written word in particular. Anne was always accompanied by reading materials and known to be forthright and honest in her spoken word. She was an excellent hostess, cook, and homemaker. Her passions and skills led her to the golf course and the bridge table where she excelled. She was quite adept in knitting and needlework. Her love and care did not end with her family but extended to many individuals. Anne was a supporter of Clarksville Public Library and the Humane Society.
Anne was skillfully and lovingly cared for by Evelyn Bevan, Rosemary Capella, Alice Kirsch, April Jackson, and Shirley McDonald.
Visitation will be Monday, December 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. There will be a private graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County.
