On April 11 at 2 a.m. an Animal Control officer received a call from the Sheriff’s Department regarding a miniature donkey in the road. With the help of the Sheriff’s Department, the Animal Control officer was able to locate the owner of the donkey. The Animal Control Officer walked the donkey safely to his residence approximately half a mile away.

April 11 – Animal Control responded to a dog on dog attack in which a pitbull type dog in a backyard jumped the fence and attacked the neighbor’s German shepherd. The German shepherd received multiple bite wounds and was treated by a veterinarian. Clarksville police issued the pitbull owner a citation for running at large and Animal Control deemed the dog dangerous.

On April 6, Animal Control responded to a call at 4 a.m. and met with an officer from the Clarksville Police Department. While responding to a call, police observed a black lab type puppy running from a scary situation. The puppy jumped straight into the officer’s police cruiser. After the 72-hour stray holding period, the police officer came and adopted the puppy!

April 13- An Animal Control Officer responded to check the welfare of a pitbull type dog in a small pen. Upon the officer’s arrival she also found four cats confined in a small rabbit hutch. The cats were unable to stand fully upright in the wire mesh cage and had an overflowing litter box. The officer left a 24-hour notice to comply for the owner regarding inadequate shelter and proof of rabies vaccinations for all five animals. The following day the owner was in compliance with shelter for the dog and the cats are now living in the house. All animals are current on rabies vaccinations.
