Sage Meadow Lane
May 14 – Animal Control received a call about a stray dog that had been confined by a citizen. Animal Control responded and picked up one female white Bichon Frise dog and transported her to the shelter. Upon arrival at the shelter the dog was examined and found to have severe chemical (urine) burns and maggots. The dog was immediately transported to the veterinarian for medical treatment and recuperation. If you have any leads on this dog or know the owner, please contact Animal Control at 931-648-5750.
Old Highway 48
May 19 – Animal Control responded to a call from the Sheriff’s Office regarding nine abandoned animals. The owner had been arrested nine days prior and the animals had no caretakers. Animal Control fed and watered the animals on the property and left a 24 hour notice. Officers were then contacted by a family member of the incarcerated individual to advise the animals were being taken care of every evening.

Freedom Drive
May 15 – An Animal Control officer received a call after hours regarding a dog-on-dog attack. Upon arrival, the officer found a severely injured 4-month-old pit bull type dog that had been attacked by a 4-year-old pit bull type dog. While Animal Control was on scene with Clarksville police, the owner of the 4-month-old dog returned home from dinner and immediately took the puppy to the vet for treatment. The older dog was being watched by the homeowner while its owner was out of town, was surrendered to Animal Control, and is being held until the owner can come retrieve him.

May 19 – Animal Control received a complaint about 15 dogs living in deplorable conditions. Upon investigation, the officer found inadequate shelter, inadequate sized pens, copious amounts of feces, and no one home to care for the dogs. Due to the multitude of violations and previous owner non-compliance, warrants have been issued.

HAPPY TAILS
May 20 – Fifteen of our wonderful puppies have left our facility and headed out to new adventures, new lives, and new homes!
