CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Santa and Mrs. Claus took some time out from their busy schedule Monday to stop by Sango Veterinary Hospital and share some holiday cheer with a donation of $1,000 to The Montgomery County Angel Fund.
Angel Fund Founder Tracie Hogan echoed what many nonprofit organizations are feeling in 2020 that financial support has unfortunately been lower than usual.
“Something like this means really means a lot and will help us get to where we need to be next year so we can continue to do what we do. I’m so appreciative because we want to help as many animals as we possibly can and I’ve never had to say no to anyone yet who has called and asked me for help,” said Hogan.
The Montgomery County Angel Fund began in 2017 through the work of Tracie and her husband David, becoming a nonprofit organization in 2018. The Angel Fund has helped animals that have been abused and injured, that have medical needs, as well as supporting spaying and neutering programs.
The Montgomery County Angel Fund was voted Best Nonprofit Organization in the recent Clarksville’s Best 2020 event with 5 Star Media Group.
There were some special guests at Monday night’s presentation. The star of the show was Frankie, the Pit Bull who Santa said melted his heart when he first heard about the severe abuse he suffered. Frankie came to Montgomery County Animal Care and Control after being found a victim of dog fighting.
The Angel Fund became the driving force to get Frankie the help he needed and with the support of Sango Veterinary Hospital, Frankie was saved and soon found a forever home.
Santa’s helpers Tim Toutges and Carla Fox were also on hand for the presentation.
