America’s Car-Mart of Clarksville believes in paying it forward, giving back and being a part of the community in which they work and live.
With Clarksville being a military town, it was their delight to present the Hope for Heroes Foundation with a $5,000 donation for the third consecutive year.
In a special ceremony at Car-Mart of Clarksville, Car-Mart associates presented the check to Mitch Serlin, Hope for Heroes’ president and founder, along with veterans and first responders who’ve benefited from Hope for Heroes programs.
“Hope for Heroes is an amazing organization, and we’re thrilled to be a part of their success story,” said Dan Burks, vice president of Car-Mart’s Customer Experience. “Thanks to the valiant efforts of Hope for Heroes, countless lives have changed forever. It doesn’t get any better than that.
“It is a privilege and an honor to help those who have answered the call and sacrificed so much for us. And we thank them for their service,” continued Burks, a US Army veteran.
Hope for Heroes Foundation helps veterans, police officers, firefighters and EMTs heal their emotional and physical wounds through recreational therapy. They cater to disabled veterans to help give them a sense of personal accomplishment, empowerment and unity for disabled heroes.
“We are honored to host Hope for Heroes and several veterans and first responders at our Car-Mart,” said Debbie Smith, General Manager at Car-Mart of Clarksville. “We all know someone in the military or a first responder. At Car-Mart, we, also, have veterans and first responders. Because of their sacrifice, we all enjoy safety and freedom in our local communities. Helping Hope for Heroes is our way of saying ‘thank you.’”
Hope for Heroes founder Mitch Serlin and his team have helped veterans and first responders heal their emotional and physical wounds through “camouflage therapy,” a therapy that takes place through exciting and fun outdoor outings contributing to their healing. Countless lives have been changed forever through Hope for Heroes.
Serlin is appreciative of Car-Mart’s involvement with Hope for Heroes. “It’s extremely helpful and confirms that we’re doing the right thing. We can’t grow without the support of corporations and individuals,” Serlin said.
