CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Update: The children have been found safe in Virginia. There is no other information available at this time.
Amber Alert has been issued for the two Clarksville children who went missing last night.
Clarksville Police are trying to locate two missing children. The two went missing last night near their residence off Trenton Road.
Traveon Thompson Jr., 11, and his sister Le’Asia Thompson, 10, were home and in their pajamas around 5:30 p.m. on September 5. They were in their residence when one family member left for work.
A second family member came home around 7:30 p.m. The children were already gone. The pajamas they had been wearing were left in the bedroom.
The family searched the neighborhood but they were not found. Police were notified around 10 p.m. and have been working the case since that time.
There have been multiple incidents in the past when the children’s non-custodial mother, Jennifer Lewis, 39, had taken the children. During that time, they were eventually located in Colorado. The family believes this may be a possibility again, however nothing specifically indicates her involvement.
The children’s cellphone was pinged and indicated it was in Mt Juliet, Tenn. around 7 p.m. Later checks did not yield a response from the phone.
Lewis’ phone indicated she was at her last known residence in Ripley, Tenn around 12:30 a.m. Investigation by law enforcement found she no longer lives at that address. Lewis has an active warrant for Custodial Interference generated after taking the children in July.
Jennifer Lewis has drives a grey 2019 Hyundai Sonata with TN TAG 4N98C4. She is 5’6, 156 lbs, has brown hair and blue eyes.
Traveon Thompson Jr. is 4’5, 75lbs, and has brown hair and brown eyes.
Le’Asia Thompson is 5’0, 55 lbs, and has brown hair and brown eyes.
