CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Alzheimer’s Association presented their Brain Health A to Z Health Expo Saturday, August 17 at First Baptist Church. Over two hundred people attended the event to learn more about Alzheimer’s and how to better care for those who have the disease.

Alzheimer’s is a progressive brain disease and the most common form of dementia. It destroys brain cells and once it starts it gets worse over time and affects all aspects of a person’s life both mentally and physically.

The expo featured a number of health oriented businesses and organizations in Clarksville including Oasis In-Home Care and Walking Horse Meadows who were sponsors of the event. There were also health screenings for memory, blood pressure and other Alzheimer’s related issues.

Tiffany Cloud-Mann, Vice President of Programs and Outreach with the Alzheimer’s Association talked about the health expo. “it’s an event to educate the community about brain health, Alzheimer’s disease, get free screenings and visit with exhibitors,” said Cloud-Mann.

Make your plans now to be a part of the Clarksville “Walk to End Alzheimer’s”, Saturday, October 5 at Liberty Park. To learn more about Alzheimer’s or to support the upcoming walk visit www.alz.org/altn or call 1-800-272-3900.
