CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Altra Federal Credit Union held a groundbreaking ceremony Monday morning for its newest location on Sidney Brown Court in the Sango community.

This will be the credit union’s third branch in the city, joining established sites on Madison Street and Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

Construction is expected to begin by the end of October, with the hope of opening by fall 2026, according to Brian Selph, Altra’s retail market president.

“It will be a full-service office. All of business units will be able to service everything on retail, mortgage, business – everything,” Selph said. “We’ll have smart ATMs in the drive-through and in the lobby to provide availability for transactions 24 (hours a day) 7 (days a week).”

Rose Melton, retail market manager for Altra, said the expansion is part of the credit union’s long-term investment in Clarksville.

“Breaking ground in Sango is more than starting construction – it’s about building stronger connections with the community,” Melton said. “We’re excited to bring Altra’s values of service, trust and financial empowerment to this growing neighborhood.”

The credit union said the new branch will provide personal and business accounts, lending services, mortgages, and financial education resources. The building will also feature a Next Generation Smart ATM that can handle deposits, withdrawals, transfers and loan payments.

The new site will be at 135 Sidney Brown Court, near the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Madison Street, and all current locations are open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

“We’re looking forward to the job, to getting it going, and having another office in the community. So we’re very excited for that,” said Selph.
